Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared insights into the recent inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies for various Chandigarh development projects. Highlighting the city’s unique status as a model for systematic urban progress, he reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to improving healthcare, education, and road infrastructure in the region.

Chandigarh continues to build its reputation for offering a superior lifestyle and ease of living for its residents. Acknowledging the spiritual heritage of the region with a reference to the divine grace of Maa Chandi, Modi noted that the ruling administration remains dedicated to the city’s structured and continuous growth.

A Model for Urban Cleanliness

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister praised local residents for their active participation in civic initiatives. He noted that the enthusiasm of the people regarding the improvement of medical facilities and infrastructure is infusing the administration with fresh vigor.

“The people of Chandigarh have sparked a new awakening regarding cleanliness,” Modi stated. He extended special congratulations to the local citizens, adding that such grassroots cleanliness campaigns are proving highly beneficial for the entire country today.

Boosting Medical Tourism and Infrastructure

Reflecting on national progress, the Prime Minister emphasized the strides made in the health sector over the past 12 years. He stated that the government has significantly expanded the country’s healthcare capacity, ensuring citizens receive modern and accessible medical treatment.

A major outcome of these sustained efforts, Modi pointed out, is that India is rapidly emerging as a premier destination for global medical tourism. The integration of advanced medical facilities with robust urban infrastructure remains a key priority for the government.

Focus on Preventive Healthcare

Beyond treating illnesses, the central administration has heavily prioritized proactive health measures. This strategic shift aims to build a healthier population from the ground up, reducing the long-term burden on hospitals and clinics.

“Our continuous focus has been not just on the treatment of diseases, but also on preventive healthcare,” the Prime Minister remarked. He highlighted that these preventative measures are substantially benefiting women, economically disadvantaged communities, and the growing middle class alike.

Through these ongoing Chandigarh development projects, the government aims to solidify the city’s position as a benchmark for modern Indian urban planning. The continued investment in civic amenities and public health infrastructure reflects a broader national strategy for sustainable, citizen-centric growth.
