JAIPUR: Gaining massive public support for its state-wide health initiatives, Rajasthan has achieved a significant milestone by securing the second position nationwide in the ongoing Organ Donation Pledge Campaign.
Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Smt. Gayatri Rathore, announced on Thursday that the state is witnessing unprecedented citizen participation. As of July 22, 2026, a remarkable 1,08,904 citizens have formally pledged to donate their organs. The intensive awareness campaign is scheduled to run until August 3, 2026.
Eyeing the Top Spot
Addressing the media, Smt. Rathore highlighted that Rajasthan is now rapidly advancing toward the number one position in the country. Currently, Maharashtra holds the top spot, but the margin has significantly narrowed, with Rajasthan trailing by a mere 8,136 pledges.
The Medical and Health Department has aggressively mobilized resources across all districts, medical institutions, and voluntary organizations to bridge this gap and secure the first rank before the campaign concludes.
Jhunjhunu Leads the State
Reviewing the district-wise performance metrics, Jhunjhunu has emerged as the absolute frontrunner, securing the first position with 13,619 pledges.
The overall top-performing districts include:
- Jhunjhunu: 13,619 pledges
- Hanumangarh: 12,828 pledges
- Churu: 10,780 pledges
- Jaipur: 8,152 pledges
- Ajmer: 6,722 pledges
- Sikar: 5,956 pledges
Furthermore, in the special accelerated drive launched this July, Jhunjhunu again topped the charts by registering 2,426 new pledges. It was closely followed by Jaipur (1,773), Tonk (997), Bhilwara (995), and Jodhpur (754), all demonstrating excellent administrative execution.
A Call for Life-Saving Participation
Appealing to the citizens of the state, the Principal Secretary emphasized that a single organ donor can provide a new lease on life to multiple patients battling critical illnesses.
The core objective of the campaign is not only to increase the pledge numbers but also to eradicate prevailing misconceptions surrounding organ donation. The department has urged educational institutions and social NGOs to step up their community outreach programs, ensuring maximum public enrollment in this noble cause.
