Correction Policy

At Growing India, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and transparency in our journalism.
When mistakes occur, we correct them promptly and responsibly.

1. Commitment to Accuracy

  • Every article is verified before publication.
  • We rely on credible sources, official documents, and proper fact-checking.
  • Despite our efforts, errors may occasionally slip through.

This policy describes how we handle such errors.

2. Types of Corrections

We correct:

a) Factual Errors

Incorrect names, dates, numbers, places, quotes, or data.

b) Editing or Typographical Errors

Spelling mistakes, formatting issues, or minor inaccuracies that do not change the meaning.

c) Misrepresentation or Context Errors

Instances where the meaning of an article was altered unintentionally.

d) Image or Caption Errors

Wrong photo, misleading caption, or incorrect description.

3. How Corrections Are Made

  • Corrections are added directly within the story with a note at the bottom (e.g., “Correction: Updated on DD/MM/YYYY”).
  • Serious corrections may be updated with a clearly visible Correction Notice at the top of the story.
  • We do not delete stories unless legally required or in rare editorial cases.
  • Corrections are time-stamped for transparency.

4. How to Request a Correction

Readers can request corrections through:

Email: [email protected]
Phone/WhatsApp: +91-7733000123

Please include:

  • Article link or screenshot
  • Detailed explanation of the error
  • Supporting documents or proof (optional)

We respond within 24–48 hours.

5. Review Process

Once a request is received:

  1. The editorial team reviews the claim.
  2. Verification is done using evidence and sources.
  3. If confirmed, the story is updated.
  4. A correction note is added.
  5. The person requesting the correction is informed (if necessary).

6. When We Do Not Make Corrections

We may decline correction requests if:

  • They relate to opinions or editorials
  • They attempt to change verified facts
  • They are made in bad faith
  • They involve legal disputes without supporting evidence
  • They aim to influence political or commercial interests
  • The content is user-generated (unless misleading or harmful)

7. Retractions

In rare cases where major inaccuracies affect the core of a story:

  • The article may be retracted.
  • A Retraction Notice will replace the story.
  • Reasons for retraction will be explained transparently.

8. Transparency & Record

  • Correction logs are maintained internally.
  • Major corrections are archived.
  • Updates to policies are published when necessary.

9. Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Desk oversee:

  • Review of correction requests
  • Accuracy enforcement
  • Compliance with DNPA and Press Council norms
