BHOPAL: Setting a striking example of frugality and sustainable governance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and his council of ministers traveled to the historic Jagdishpur Fort for their cabinet meeting via electric buses on Sunday.

In a strong message promoting the judicious use of fuel and government resources, the Chief Minister deliberately left his official vehicle and extensive security convoy behind at the CM House. All ministers and their staff gathered at the Chief Minister’s residence at 10:00 AM, collectively boarding three electric buses for the journey. The customary pilot vehicles, follow cars, and personal ministerial vehicles were strictly halted at the residence.

Senior Officials Follow Suit

Aligning with the Chief Minister’s vision of simplicity and resource conservation, senior bureaucrats and officials attending the high-level meeting also adopted the green transit method. They parked their official vehicles at the Kushabhau Thakre complex and traveled to the Jagdishpur venue collectively in a separate e-bus.

This initiative strongly reflects Dr. Yadav’s ongoing push for simplicity, cost-cutting, and the sensible utilization of public resources at every tier of the administration.

Grand Welcome and Heritage Exhibition

The sight of the state’s top leadership traveling in electric buses generated significant curiosity and enthusiasm among the residents of the capital. The Chief Minister’s e-bus was showered with flowers at multiple locations, receiving warm welcomes at the Patra Bridge, Lambakheda, and at the main entrance of Jagdishpur.

Upon arrival, local MLA Vishnu Khatri welcomed Dr. Yadav with a traditional ang vastram, and a ceremonial tilak was applied at the fort’s main gates to mark his arrival.

Marking the historic occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated a special heritage exhibition organized within the Jagdishpur Fort premises. Dr. Yadav interacted warmly with tribal artists present at the event. The exhibition prominently features portraits and tributes to the state’s revered tribal heroes, patriotic figures, and historical rulers renowned for their valor and good governance.
