New Delhi: The E175 aircraft can accommodate up to 88 passengers and is expected to contribute to improved air connectivity, particularly to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. The proposed assembly line marks a step toward expanding aerospace manufacturing collaboration between the two countries.
During their discussions, both leaders emphasised the broader significance of strengthening India–Brazil relations. They noted that enhanced cooperation would contribute to amplifying the voice of the Global South in global affairs.
The meeting reflected a shared intent to diversify and expand economic engagement beyond traditional trade areas. By focusing on sectors such as digital infrastructure, defence and mining, the two sides signalled their aim to align strategic and economic priorities.
The critical minerals pact was described as a major highlight of the talks, given the growing global importance of secure supply chains in this field. The agreement is expected to support industrial resilience and foster closer coordination between the two countries in resource development.
With bilateral trade currently at $12 billion, the new $20 billion target represents a significant increase. Officials from both sides indicated that sustained collaboration across identified sectors would be central to achieving this objective.
The announcements made during President Lula’s visit underscore a renewed push to broaden economic and strategic ties, while reinforcing cooperation in areas considered vital for long-term growth and global engagement.
