New Delhi: Gold and silver logged strong gains on Wednesday, with both metals becoming substantially more expensive in the domestic market, supported by bullish global sentiment.

Data from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) showed 24-carat gold rising by ₹962 to ₹1,26,081 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,25,119 a day earlier. Prices of 22-carat gold increased to ₹1,15,490 from ₹1,14,609, while the 18-carat category moved to ₹94,561 compared with ₹93,839 on Tuesday.

Silver saw an even sharper jump, climbing ₹2,705 over the past 24 hours to ₹1,59,025 per kilogram, versus ₹1,56,320 previously.

The positive momentum was reflected in futures trading as well. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold for December 5, 2025 delivery advanced 0.61 per cent to ₹1,25,988, while silver futures for the same contract month rose 1.56 per cent to ₹1,58,757.

International markets also tracked higher. Gold gained 0.77 per cent to $4,198 per ounce, and silver was up 1.60 per cent to $51.80 per ounce.

Analysts said the breakout above $4,150 per ounce globally and ₹1.25 lakh per 10 grams domestically signals continued strength in bullion prices.

“Gold traded positively with Comex prices rising above $4,150, while MCX gold gained ₹650 to ₹1,25,900,” said Jateen Trivedi of LKP Securities. He added that gold prices have climbed nearly 2.5 per cent since Monday’s opening levels, with volatility likely in the near term.

Markets are now awaiting crucial US macroeconomic indicators — including GDP data and the Core PCE Price Index — along with the Federal Reserve’s rate decision, which will shape the next direction for precious metals.

Trivedi said gold is expected to fluctuate within a range of ₹1,24,000 to ₹1,27,500 per 10 grams in the short run.
