New Delhi: Ayodhya is preparing for another major milestone as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the temple town on November 25 for a ceremonial flag hoisting at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

The upcoming event has infused the city with enthusiasm. Streets are being decorated, security has been strengthened, and the temple precinct is abuzz with activity as residents and shopkeepers ready themselves for the Prime Minister’s arrival.

Ayodhya has witnessed sweeping changes since the Ram Temple’s construction began, and locals say the transformation continues to reshape both the city’s appearance and its economy.

For flower-garland vendors, the shift has been especially significant. Naresh Kumar, a vendor originally from Aurangabad in Bihar, said the demand for garlands has soared in the wake of the temple’s development.

“Since the Ram Temple was built, everything has changed by 99 per cent,” he said. “We now sell 2–3 quintals of garlands every day. I earn around Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 a month. We came here for work, and today our entire family is settled here. This progress in Ayodhya has only been possible because of PM Modi.”

Sanjay, another vendor who has worked in the flower trade for 35 years, said the town’s growth is unprecedented. “Ayodhya has changed completely. The development here cannot be compared to earlier years,” he said.

Jagat Guru Paramhans Acharya Ji Maharaj, Peethadheeshwar of Tapasvi Chhawani, also highlighted the cultural significance of the ceremony. He said the transformation of Ayodhya reflects descriptions found in ancient texts.

“PM Modi is a Yugpurush. He has not only beautified Ayodhya but restored it to a form reminiscent of Treta Yuga,” he said. “Anyone who visits today can see the change. What the Vedas and Puranas describe about Ayodhya Dham is becoming visible again.”

As Ayodhya prepares for the November 25 ceremony, the temple town continues to symbolise both economic upliftment and cultural renewal around the historic site.
