New Delhi: India has dismissed reports suggesting that Elon Musk participated in a phone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former US President Donald Trump, calling the claims inaccurate.

The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that the discussion was strictly held between the two leaders and did not involve any third party. Officials stated that the reports indicating Musk’s presence were incorrect and misleading.

According to the government, the call between Modi and Trump focused on the evolving situation in West Asia, particularly developments related to the ongoing Iran conflict. The conversation was described as “productive,” with both leaders discussing key geopolitical issues.

The clarification came after a foreign media report suggested that Musk had joined the conversation, characterising it as an unusual development given the context of wartime discussions. Indian authorities, however, rejected the claim and emphasised that no such participation took place.

In addition to the conversation with Trump, Prime Minister Modi also held discussions with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. The talks focused on ensuring stability in the region and maintaining the security of maritime routes.

Officials said the discussions highlighted the importance of keeping global shipping lanes open and ensuring freedom of navigation, particularly in the context of rising tensions in West Asia.

The government’s response underscores its efforts to address misinformation related to high-level diplomatic engagements. Authorities reiterated the importance of accurate reporting, especially in matters concerning international relations and security.

India has been actively engaging with global leaders to assess the evolving situation in West Asia and its potential implications. The discussions have centred on regional stability, energy security and the safety of international trade routes.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that official communication channels remain the authoritative source for information regarding diplomatic interactions. It urged caution against relying on unverified reports that may misrepresent facts.

The denial of Musk’s involvement comes amid heightened global attention on developments in West Asia, where ongoing tensions have led to increased diplomatic activity among world leaders.

India’s clarification reinforces its position on maintaining transparency in diplomatic communication while ensuring that inaccurate claims do not create confusion about official engagements.

As the situation continues to evolve, India is expected to remain engaged with international partners to address key challenges arising from the conflict and to ensure stability in the region.
