Bhilwara: The Hindustan Scout Guide Rajasthan State School hosted a special initiation and felicitation ceremony where Scouts and Guides who recently received the Governor’s Award were honoured with State Award certificates. The event recognised the commitment of young volunteers contributing to national service initiatives from the school level.

The programme was inaugurated with a lamp‑lighting ceremony by Bhilwara MLA Ashok Kothari and BJP District President Prashant Mewara, who later administered the national service oath to all Scout participants. School Director Pawan Khemka extended a warm welcome to the chief guests and expressed gratitude for their support.

Scout Guide District Organizer Mohan Lal Maharia addressed the gathering and provided insights into ongoing activities, future plans, and the long‑standing history of the Scout and Guide movement. He emphasised the motto of discipline, service and preparedness that defines the organisation’s foundation.

Role of Scouts in Nation‑Building

Speaking at the ceremony, MLA Ashok Kothari said that the spirit of national duty forms the core of the Scout and Guide mission. He highlighted the organisation’s track record of helping communities during crises and natural disasters across the country.

Kothari stated that the Scout movement introduces children to values of patriotism, parent‑service and social responsibility from a young age. He added that Bhilwara’s Scouts are not only progressing beyond local platforms but are also bringing recognition to the city at the state and national level. Encouraging wider participation, he said that the organisation acts as a bridge for students to connect with moral growth and public service.

Recognition of Service to Society

District President Prashant Mewara acknowledged the Scouts’ significant role in public welfare programmes and official events. He remarked that the organisation instills confidence and civic duty, motivating young individuals to step forward whenever the nation needs support.

Mewara added that during major challenges, including the COVID‑19 pandemic, Scouts remained at the forefront assisting authorities and communities. He encouraged students to apply Scout values—discipline, responsibility and service—in everyday life to ensure a meaningful future.

Tree Plantation for Environmental Awareness

Following the ceremony, guests and participants took part in a tree plantation drive under the “One Tree for Mother” initiative, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship alongside community service.

Principal Vandana Singh welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts of students and staff in strengthening the Scout Guide activities within the school.

The programme was coordinated by Scout Master Pawan Bawari and teacher Priyanka Vaishnav, who successfully conducted the proceedings.

Among those present were Vice Principal Mukesh Sisodiya, Primary Branch Principal Charu Sharma, as well as faculty and committee members including Bhimraj Mehta, Pramod Sethi, Rahul Sahu, Reena Verma, Radhika Gandharva, Jyotsna Srivastava, and Shweta Jain.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the values of courage, discipline and public welfare that define the Scout and Guide movement.
