Mumbai: Karan Johar has said he is thrilled to have attended the London leg of the special screening of his acclaimed drama Homebound. The screening was hosted by filmmaker Gurinder Chadha and featured lead actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa.
Johar shared photos from the event on Instagram, writing: “Made it to the London leg of our @homeboundthefilm campaign & it was a night filled with the warmest love, familiar and new faces and a whole lot of support for our film.” He also extended his appreciation to Chadha, adding: “A special shoutout to @gurinder.chadha who so graciously hosted this screening for us.”
Earlier in November, Johar was present at a Los Angeles screening of Homebound, which saw participation from Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria along with the film’s primary cast and team. Sharing a set of images from that event — including director Neeraj Ghaywan, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa — Johar wrote: “Super grateful & thrilled that you could be there for our film, Bela.”
The movie’s international tour has also included a New York City screening hosted by renowned filmmaker and Homebound executive producer Martin Scorsese.
Speaking about the film’s global journey, director Neeraj Ghaywan said, “Rooted in the love for our land and our people, it carries the essence of the home we all share. To take our stories to the world and represent India at one of the biggest global stages for cinema is both humbling and a matter of pride.”
