Ajmer: A significant step toward strengthening educational infrastructure in Ajmer district was taken on Saturday with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Devnarayan Government Residential School in Sarsadi village under the Pisangan tehsil. The building is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹25 crore to benefit students across the Nasirabad Assembly constituency.
The event began with Vedic rituals and Bhoomi Pujan, attended by a large gathering of villagers, public representatives, government officials and students. The ceremony drew widespread enthusiasm in the region as the project has been long awaited by the local community.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary, Devnarayan Board Chairman Omprakash Bhadana, and Nasirabad MLA Ramswaroop Lamba officiated as chief guests during the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Choudhary said the ongoing expansion of educational infrastructure across Rajasthan is a result of development‑focused measures being implemented under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s governance. He noted that the upcoming residential school would help empower students from rural backgrounds by providing access to better facilities and improved learning opportunities.
Devnarayan Board Chairman Bhadana described the day as historic for the Pisangan region. He emphasized that the Devnarayan Board is working tirelessly to expand the reach of education and ensure inclusive progress. He highlighted that the residential school will prove particularly beneficial for girl students by offering them a secure and supportive environment equipped with modern amenities.
Bhadana added that several villages in Pisangan did not receive full advantages under the Devnarayan scheme in previous years. However, since the change in state leadership and reactivation of development initiatives under his tenure, significant improvements have begun to take shape in multiple sectors including education. According to him, the school will create new academic pathways for thousands of children in rural areas.
MLA Lamba said that the institution represents a fulfilment of a long‑standing public demand in the constituency. He expressed gratitude to the state government and the Devnarayan Board, saying the project will strengthen the foundation of quality education and drive future progress in the region.
Local leaders and officials including former Zila Pramukh Pukhraj Pahadia, BJP District President Jeetmal Prajapat, and Pisangan Pradhan Dinesh Pradhan were among those present.
Attendees expressed their belief that the upcoming residential school will contribute significantly to enhancing educational access, supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and shaping a more promising future for the younger generation.
As construction prepares to commence following the Bhoomi Pujan, officials affirmed that the project is designed to deliver high‑quality infrastructure with residential facilities, ensuring a conducive environment for academic excellence.
