On Saturday, Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Affairs Jawahar Singh Bedham strongly condemned a tragic incident at a madrasa in Deeg district, where female students were forced to clean a septic tank. The severe safety breach in Milkheda village, Pahari tehsil, resulted in the death of one student and left several others hospitalized in Alwar.
Addressing the media at the Bharatpur Circuit House, Bedham described the act of forcing enrolled students to perform such hazardous tasks as illegal, condemnable, and shameful. He confirmed that local authorities initiated immediate rescue operations upon receiving information about the accident.
“The death of a young girl in this mishap is deeply agonizing,” Bedham stated. He added that the state government has directed the Alwar district administration to ensure optimal medical treatment for the injured students, while the Deeg District Collector is closely monitoring the entire situation.
FIR Registered Against the Management
Calling it a case of severe negligence on the part of the educational institution, the minister emphasized that both the madrasa operators and society at large need to introspect regarding the Deeg Madrasa incident. He assured the public that a First Information Report (FIR) has already been registered with the police.
The government’s immediate priority is the medical recovery, safety, and educational rehabilitation of the surviving girls. Bedham vowed that a fair and impartial investigation will be conducted, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty of endangering the students.
Concluding his briefing, the minister reiterated the administration’s commitment to preventing the recurrence of such tragedies. He assured that necessary preventive measures will be implemented across educational institutions so no child faces such a hazardous and unfortunate situation again.
