Seven of India’s Top 10 Firms Add ₹1.28 Lakh Crore in Market Value as Equities Rally

New Delhi: Seven of India’s top ten most valued companies collectively increased their market capitalisation by more than ₹1.28 lakh crore last week, supported by strength in the broader equity market.

Overall sentiment remained positive as the BSE Sensex advanced 669.14 points, or 0.79 per cent, over the week, while the Nifty50 gained 0.61 per cent.

Large-cap heavyweights across sectors such as energy, banking, IT and FMCG contributed to the gains, although three major firms recorded a dip in valuation.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries were among the standout performers. Bharti Airtel’s market value rose by ₹36,579.01 crore, pushing its total valuation to ₹12,33,279.85 crore. Infosys added ₹17,490.03 crore to reach a market cap of ₹6,41,688.83 crore, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) saw a rise of ₹16,299.49 crore, taking its valuation to ₹11,39,715.66 crore.

Banking majors also posted healthy gains. HDFC Bank added ₹14,608.22 crore, placing its market value at ₹15,35,132.56 crore. State Bank of India increased by ₹4,846.08 crore to ₹8,97,769.87 crore. In the FMCG space, Hindustan Unilever’s valuation rose by ₹1,785.69 crore, reaching ₹5,71,972.75 crore.

On the losing side, Bajaj Finance suffered the sharpest decline, with its market capitalisation falling by ₹8,244.79 crore to ₹6,25,328.59 crore. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) shed ₹4,522.38 crore, ending the week at ₹5,70,578.04 crore. ICICI Bank recorded a mild erosion of ₹1,248.08 crore, bringing its valuation to ₹9,79,126.35 crore.

In terms of overall rankings, Reliance Industries remained India’s most valued company, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever and LIC.
