Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma used the platform of the 98th Annual Conference of FICCI at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Friday to position the state as a major contender for global investment. He said India is advancing swiftly toward self-sufficiency and sustainable economic progress under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Rajasthan is emerging as one of the key contributors to that national growth story.

Speaking before a gathering of industry leaders and representatives, Sharma emphasized that Rajasthan has transitioned into an attractive destination for international and domestic investors alike. He noted that the state now offers wide-ranging investment prospects in sectors such as renewable energy, tourism, logistics, and industrial development — sectors that are shaping India’s future economy.

According to the Chief Minister, the state government has prioritized creating a business environment that supports investors through simplified processes and increased transparency. He pointed out improvements such as digital governance systems, swift approvals through a single-window mechanism, and land policies designed to reduce administrative hurdles.

Highlighting the outcomes of recent government initiatives, Sharma shared that the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit resulted in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹35 lakh crore. Out of these commitments, projects amounting to ₹7 lakh crore have already reached the implementation stage. He described this as a strong indicator of growing investor confidence in Rajasthan’s policies and potential.

Sharma also detailed the state’s progress in enhancing physical infrastructure to support economic expansion. He said that ₹60,000 crore has been earmarked to improve road connectivity across Rajasthan. In addition, industrial clusters, logistics parks, dedicated economic zones, and upgraded modern airports are being developed to support large-scale investments and streamline supply chains.

Reiterating the state’s geographical significance, Sharma said Rajasthan — being the largest state in India — holds a pivotal role in the country’s economic landscape. Its expanding industrial and logistics capabilities, he added, reinforce its ability to influence national growth in a substantial way.

The Chief Minister described renewable energy as one of Rajasthan’s strongest assets. He said the state has risen to the position of India’s renewable energy hub and is already home to a flourishing ecosystem of enterprises, including more than five lakh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and over 7,000 startups focused on innovation and technology-driven solutions.

Alongside economic achievements, Sharma mentioned improvements in social indicators. He cited a 9.24% reduction in crimes against women and a significant rise in the state’s GDP growth rate, which has reached 12.2%. This figure, he pointed out, surpasses the national average growth rate of 9.7%, reflecting Rajasthan’s growing economic strength and stability.

During his address, Sharma acknowledged the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for its efforts in enabling collaboration between government and industry. He praised the organization’s contributions to promoting Rajasthan’s economic strengths globally through engagements in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

The Chief Minister concluded his remarks by inviting investors to partner with the state in its developmental journey. He expressed confidence that joint efforts between the government and private sector will play a vital role in realising the national aspiration of a developed India by the year 2047. He encouraged industry to take advantage of the evolving opportunities and contribute to building a prosperous and future-ready Rajasthan.
