New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a three-day tour of Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from November 20 to 22, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Tuesday. The visit will include participation in key cultural and commemorative events hosted by the three states.

The President’s travel will begin on Thursday with her visit to Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh, where she will attend the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebration organised by the state government. The event marks an important occasion dedicated to honouring the contributions, valour and cultural legacy of India’s tribal communities. Officials said the President’s presence underscores the significance the Union government accords to tribal welfare and recognition.

On the second day of her tour, November 21, President Murmu will be in Telangana. She is scheduled to inaugurate the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, Secunderabad. The arts festival, now in its second edition, aims to showcase the country’s diverse cultural heritage through performances, food traditions and artistic expressions.

According to the organisers, this year’s Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav will feature an array of cultural, culinary and artistic traditions from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu. The festival will present folk performances, regional crafts, traditional cuisine and curated exhibitions, offering audiences a holistic glimpse into the distinct identities of these regions. Officials said the event forms part of ongoing efforts to promote India’s cultural richness through public engagement and creative collaborations.

President Murmu’s tour will conclude on November 22 with her visit to Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. She will attend a special session at Prasanthi Nilayam held to commemorate the centenary celebration of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The centenary observance honours the spiritual leader’s life, teachings and philanthropic contributions. Devotees and representatives from various institutions are expected to participate in the commemorative programme at the ashram.

The President’s three-day schedule highlights a blend of cultural outreach and commemorative engagement across the three states. Each event is anchored in themes of heritage, tradition and service, reflecting the administration’s emphasis on cultural preservation and community recognition.

Officials accompanying the President noted that the itinerary includes interactions with organisers and participants at each venue, allowing her to witness first-hand the preparations and performances central to these events. They added that such visits form an integral part of the President’s continued engagement with diverse communities and her role in encouraging cultural dialogue across the country.

The Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebration in Ambikapur, the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav in Secunderabad and the centenary observance at Puttaparthi are all expected to draw significant public participation. State authorities have made arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the events and adequate security during the President’s visit.

With the completion of her engagements on November 22, President Murmu will return to New Delhi. The three-day trip is among several official visits she has undertaken in recent weeks, emphasising her focus on cultural, developmental and community-focused programmes nationwide.
